Broadly speaking, if you are in control of the premises, it is your duty to manage any asbestos found in your premises.
The survey will locate, identify and assess the condition of any asbestos containing materials. The findings are then assessed using a scoring system as set out by the health and safety executive guidance HSG 248.
Based on the final score a management plan can be put into action, tailored to suit your premises needs.
Not all asbestos requires removing, in fact the health and safety executive state: -
"If properly controlled and maintained (managed) there is no reason why asbestos containing materials cannot remain in use for many years".
